Anna glared down at the paperwork on her desk. It was an emergency care form for one of the third year Gryffindors, and only half of it was filled out.
"Don't parents realize how important it is to know a child's medical history?" She fumed under her breath, placing the paper in an overflowing tray labeled 'INCOMPLETE'. She looked at the pile of forms yet to be sorted and sighed. They could wait. Not even the most zealous students could possibly get injured in the first week of school... could they?
She reflexively glanced through the window of her office, into the Hospital Wing proper. Lucky stared back at her from his perch atop one of the beds.
"Note to self: Students that are allergic to cats must not be placed in the third bed from the door."
She glanced back down at the paperwork on her desk, then stood and stretched. Although she'd redecorated the office--the whole Hospital Wing--two years ago to calming blues and off-whites, replacing the sterile-white-and-chrome color scheme designed by her predecessor, three hours of mind-numbing paperwork was enough to make her get up.
"I should really get you off of there," she told Lucky as she stepped into the Hospital Wing. The cat yawned and then, very deliberately, stood and turned before laying back down with his back to her. "Lazy," Anna muttered good-naturedly.
She turned towards the door. If she recalled correctly, Jesse was teaching a variant of the Pepper-Up potion. The last time he'd done that, she'd had six students referred to her for "acting strangely."
They'd been tripping.
She pulled out her pale wand and began casting unnecessary cleaning charms on the already sterile walls and floors. Anything to get out of paperwork.
